Join Us for a Free, Fun-Filled Youth & Family Festival!

The Youth & Family Festival is right around the corner! This Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center there will be family friendly activities, free services offered, and information on state and local resources. RSVP today – you can find all of the event details below:

Activities for the Whole Family:

The event features petting zoo, inflatable slide, arts & crafts, fire truck exploration, butterfly encounter, and toddler play area that are all available throughout the entire event until 1 p.m.

Additional activities include:

10:30 a.m. - Family Yoga
11 a.m. - Drum Circle 
11:30 a.m. - Storytime
12 p.m. - P.L.A.Y. (Physical Learning Activities for Youth)

*There will also be a few food trucks on site for food purchase

CHP Car Seat Installation & Safety Inspection:

The California Highway Patrol is providing free car seat installations and safety inspections. They are offering appointments even before the event begins, as early as 8:30 a.m. An appointment can include inspecting existing car seats to ensure they are properly and safely installed, installing car seats for you, making sure they are secured correctly and meet safety standards, and answering any questions you may have about child passenger safety.

Bicycle Rodeo:

Also organized by CHP will be a bicycle safety obstacle course. Bring your child’s bicycle (or borrow one on site), get a FREE helmet, and watch your child navigate the obstacle course. CHP volunteers will engage with the kids to provide safety tips along the way!

Resources to Help Your Family:

Some vendors will be providing free services & resources during the event, including:

  • CalFresh & Medi-Cal assistance
  • Blood pressure & glucose checks
  • Library cards at the Library Express Mobile Library
  • Emergency Preparedness mini kits

Other resource vendors will be present to offer information & supplies covering a wide variety of topics. Stop by their tables to ask questions, learn about available assistance & programs, and take home valuable materials & information. Topics include:

  • Financial resources
  • Community Safety
  • Local Youth Activities
  • Social Services Assistance
  • Health & Wellness
  • Resources for Parents & Caregivers
  • State & Local Government Resources

Prize Drawing

When you arrive, grab a free event passport at our check in tables! You will receive stickers at each vendor booth & activity you visit – the more stickers you collect, the more tickets you will receive to enter a free drawing for a host of prizes. The drawing is free, open to everyone, and will be occurring later in the event.

This event is hosted in partnership with Strength United, a CSUN community agency dedicated to supporting families and youth.
